How to find router IP address?

How to find IP address of your router? There are several ways to find it out. The simple way is to check router default IP address here. Most of router’s default IP address are 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. For example, you need to figure out what kind of router or modem you are using. By looking at the packing box, you will see the brand name and model number on it, then try to find corresponding IP address in the list above.

Another way is to search in Google with router brand, model and default gateway, it will show the results. For example, you can try to search “ASUS RT-AC5300 default gateway” to see the result.

Router Label
Look at surfaces of your router, you will see a label printed with useful information, which includes router brand, model, gateway address, default username and password, MAC address.
Router Manual
Find the router manual, you will see what the default gateway of your router is. If the manual is gone, you can also find it online on it’s company’s website.

How to Find Router IP Address in different OS?

Windows
Open command prompt by typing ‘cmd’ at the search bar, or find it at ‘Start’ menu. Then type ‘ipconfig’ at the window. This command will show you local network settings. Find the line with ‘Default gateway’ in it, you will see the IP address.
MAC OS
It’s very simple to find router IP in MAC OS:

  1. Click ‘Apple’> ‘System Preferences’> ‘Network’ at the top of the screen
  2. Click your network connection. Then click ‘Advanced’ button.
  3. Click ‘TCP/IP’, you will find router IP address which appears as a router.

Linux

  1. Click ‘Settings’ icon in the task bar.
  2. Click ‘Connections’, you can find the IP address in the ‘Default router’ line.

Android

  1. Go to ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Wi-Fi settings’.
  2. Choose your connected network and click ‘Manage network settings’.
  3. Click ‘Show advanced options’.
  4. Under ‘IP settings’ menu, Click ‘Static’, in the ‘Gateway’ section you will router IP address.

iPhone/iPad iOS

  1. Go to ‘Settings’, click ‘WiFi’
  2. Choose your Wi-Fi network, you will see router’s IP address.

Chrome OS

  1. Look at the right side of the taskbar, click the notification area , click ‘Connected to’. Then choose your network connection.
  2. Click ‘Network’, you will find a gateway IP address, which is the IP address of your router.
